I don’t know when you first learned about seaweed, but my first memory of seaweed comes from the “Good Time Seaweed” advertisement.

Growing up, I found that many seaweed ingredients list labeled nori, I feel very confused, said seaweed, how the ingredients list has become nori? Seaweed and nori are the same thing?

The following is the classification and definition of GB/T 23596-2009 Seaweed:

From the national standard can be known: seaweed is dried nori after baking or seasoning, baking and other processes to support the food can be eaten directly.

Seaweed is nori!

Nori nutrition more

Nori is China’s important economic seaweed, our domestic nori to striped nori and altar nori mainly. Nori is not only rich in protein and carbohydrates, but also has a good content of various vitamins and minerals.

The iodine content of purslane is relatively rich, and for residents in iodine-deficient areas, eating purslane regularly can play a role in supplementing iodine; however, for residents in areas that are not iodine-deficient, consuming too much purslane on a regular basis will increase the likelihood of excessive iodine intake. According to the recommendations of the Chinese Nutrition Society, the recommended daily intake of iodine is 120 micrograms, 100 grams of nori contains about 4323 micrograms of iodine, that is to say, every day to eat 2-3 grams of nori can be “up to standard”.

Do you know how to pick seaweed?

Instant seaweed, also known as seaweed, is usually made from dried seaweed (nori). Seaweed is nutritious and crispy, and many of our friends take it as their snack of choice. However, most seaweed products on the market are salty, and eating too much is not good for your health.

According to China’s relevant regulations, all prepackaged food nutrition labeling is mandatory to indicate the value of sodium (1g sodium ≈ 2.5g salt) content and its percentage of the nutrient reference value (NRV). Generally speaking, the sodium content of more than 30% NRV of the food containing salt even higher, try to eat as little as possible, such as this one:

In addition, beware of some food labels in the “pit”. For example, the following seaweed, sodium NRV% is only 2%, but its unit of calculation is 5 grams per serving, if converted into a 100g serving, sodium NRV% is as high as 40%.

The correct posture of choosing, eating and storing seaweed

1. Purchase nori through regular channels and keep shopping vouchers. When buying, you should buy purple and black luster, thin slices of unadulterated seaweed, soak it in water before eating, and change the water 1~2 times.

2. Seaweed product packaging desiccant, pay special attention. If the desiccant package is broken, do not eat. If the desiccant is accidentally ingested or gets into the eyes, rinse with plenty of water and then seek medical attention.

3. Seaweed exposed to light or under high temperature and humidity will cause deterioration in quality and taste. It is recommended to store seaweed in the refrigerator for cold storage and consume immediately after opening.
