On September 9, 2008, the Ministry of Health approved isomalt ketone sugar alcohol as a new resource food in accordance with the Food Hygiene Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Measures for the Administration of New Resource Foods.
Development history
Isomalt ketone sugar alcohol is also known as the international Paragin Sugar Alcohol or Epsom Sugar, is the isomalt ketone sugar by hydrogenation and purification of the only sucrose-derived binary functional sugar alcohols.
In 1957, German scientists extracted isomaltulose from sugar cane, laying the technical foundation;
In the 1980s, Germany, the United States successively developed isomalt ketone sugar alcohol and achieve mass production;
