National Announcement
On October 29, 2010, the Ministry of Health (MOH) issued the Announcement on Approval of New Resource Foods such as Erythrocystis rainforestris (MOH Announcement No. 17), formally approving Erythrocystis rainforestris as a new resource food and stipulating its basic information, production process, serving size, quality requirements and scope of use.
Rhodococcus rainieri
Chlorella vulgaris is a freshwater single-celled green alga belonging to the phylum Chlorophyceae, order Chlorophyceae, family Rhodococcaceae, genus Rhodococcus. The algae can accumulate astaxanthin in large quantities and show red color, so it is called red chlorella, also known as rainy red chlorella.
It is the nature of astaxanthin content in the most abundant organisms, its astaxanthin content of up to 3.0% of the dry weight, or even higher, known as natural astaxanthin “concentrate”, is considered to be the best natural astaxanthin biological sources.
There are two states in the growth process of Erythrocystis aeruginosa:
One is the state when the environment is suitable for growth, when the rainy red algae will continue to reproduce, the number will increase rapidly, this stage they are all green.
The other is the state when the environment is bad, such as pH, temperature becomes particularly unsuitable for growth, they will stop reproducing, the body began to generate a large number of astaxanthin, to get through this difficult stage, at this time the cells become red.
Astaxanthin
In 1996, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Nutrition Research Center, revealed an amazing and magical mystery, salmon, fish in the ocean contains a substance called astaxanthin, is the nature so far found, inhibit the absorption of free radicals the strongest antioxidant capacity.
Astaxanthin is an oxygenated derivative of carotenoids, one of more than 600 types of carotenoids. Studies have shown that astaxanthin has a strong ability to remove oxygen free radicals, its antioxidant is 10 times the carotenoids, vitamin E 550 times, known as “super oxidant”.
Astaxanthin improves human immunity, inhibits tumor development, delays aging, maintains the health of eyes, liver and central nervous system and other physiological functions.
Applications of Erythrocystis rainbowensis
Cosmetics
Due to its powerful antioxidant properties, almost all first-tier cosmetic brands around the world have added Erythrocystis rainbowensis extract as an ingredient in their super antioxidants, including Estee Lauder, L’Oréal’s DermaE, and in particular, Japanese brands KOSE, FANCL, JUJU, FUJI, DHC, and Mancini have launched specialized series of Erythrocystis rainbowensis extracts. Moisturizers, anti-wrinkle eye creams, masks, lipsticks, etc.
Those red or orange colored cosmetics that claim to be antioxidant and are sold for hundreds or thousands of dollars are generally added to this category of Rafflesia Extract.
Nutraceuticals
Nutraceutical companies around the world have also introduced about 200 types of health food products in the form of soft and hard capsules and oral liquids of Erythrina rainbowensis extract.
In particular, it is the most popular health product in the United States, where it has become the hottest health product in the past three years.
Southeast Asia, including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore by its influence. There are also some enterprises in our country follow up one after another.
Feed
Erythrocystis rainbowensis extract is brilliant red, with strong pigment deposition ability, as a functional pigment, fish and poultry on the absorption and accumulation of Erythrocystis rainbowensis extract than other carotenoids such as keratine, lutein and zeaxanthin much more effective.
Erythrina rainbowensis extract is mainly used in the feed industry, can be used as abalone, sturgeon, salmon, rainbow trout, red sea bream, crustaceans and ornamental fish and a variety of poultry, pig feed additives.
