Study on the Chemical Composition of Chang’ejue Bed
There are approximately 600 species of Justicia plants in the Acanthaceae family, mainly distributed in tropical regions such as India, Africa, and Brazil in South America; According to reports on the chemical composition and pharmacological activity of plants in the genus Quercus, this plant is rich in lignans, triterpenoids, and yellow, which are used to treat colds, coughs, conjunctivitis, eczema, and ringworm sores.
Justicia calycina (Nees) is mainly distributed in the Amazon rainforest region of South America. Its medicinal part is dried whole grass, and as one of the medicinal plants in Ecuador, it is used locally to treat colds, coughs, conjunctivitis, eczema, and ringworm sores. According to literature reports, fresh leaves and flowers of the Long Calyx Euphorbia are rich in essential oils. 63 compounds were identified through GC-MS analysis, with the main components being monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. However, there are few systematic studies on the chemical composition of this plant. In order to develop and utilize the plant resources reasonably and provide scientific basis for its medicinal effects, this experiment studied the chemical composition of the 95% ethanol extract of the whole plant of Chang’ejue bed, and screened the isolated compounds for anti RSV, HSV-1 activity and anti-inflammatory activity.

This experiment studied the chemical components of the medicinal plant Long Calyx Euphorbia in Ecuador, and isolated and identified compounds from its 95% ethanol extract. Fifteen compounds were isolated and identified, including triterpenoids, lignans, fatty acids, benzoic acid compounds, and other compounds. All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time. This experiment provides a deep understanding of the chemical composition of the plant and offers more comprehensive chemical information about the Long Calyx plant. According to literature reports, this genus of plants has antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities. In this study, the anti RSV and HSV-1 activities of 15 isolated compounds were tested. Compared with the positive control group, compounds 1-15 did not exhibit anti RSV and HSV-1 activity; After screening for anti-inflammatory activity, compounds 1-7 and 14 were found to have good inhibitory activity on NO production. Further exploration and research are needed on the chemical components with antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities in Chang’ejue bed, laying a theoretical foundation for better development and utilization of the plant, enriching the types of chemical components in the plant, and exploring its effective active ingredients.
