Research on the Chemical Components and Anti Rheumatoid Arthritis Activity of White Haired Black Raspberry
The white haired black raspberry belongs to the Vitaceae family and the Cayratia Juss genus. There are about 45 species in this genus, widely distributed in Asia, Africa, Oceania and other parts of the world. There are about 16 species in China, mainly distributed in Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and other regions. It grows in valley forests or on mountain rocks at an altitude of 300-2000 meters. The plants of the Aconitum genus usually have the effects of clearing heat and detoxifying, promoting blood circulation and dispersing blood stasis, and diuresis. They are commonly used in folk medicine for the treatment of sore throat, dysentery, abscess, traumatic injury, snake bite and other diseases. They are also commonly used to treat rheumatic diseases, urinary system infections, oral herpes and other diseases. Modern pharmacological research has shown that plants in the genus Vaccinium have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anti-tumor activities. This genus of plants mainly contains chemical components such as flavonoids, steroids, lipids, terpenes, and volatile oils. In the Dong ethnic group settlement area in northwest Hunan, due to the complex terrain and unique climate environment, the Dong people have accumulated rich experience in medication and formed a unique Dong medicine system in the struggle against natural environment and diseases. As a commonly used Dong medicine, the dried aboveground part of Bai Mao Wu Jian Guo, also known as “Jiao Mei Gu” or “Jiao Mei Ku”, has been used for a long time to treat rheumatoid arthritis with definite therapeutic effects and great development prospects. However, there are currently no relevant reports on the chemical composition and modern pharmacological activity of Bai Mao Wu Jian Guo. In order to develop and utilize the plant resources more reasonably and fully tap into its medicinal value, this experiment conducted research on its chemical composition and in vitro anti rheumatoid arthritis activity, in order to provide favorable scientific references for the further development and clinical application of the white haired blackcurrant.

 

The Dong medicine “Jiaomei Gu” has been used for a long time to treat rheumatoid arthritis in the Dong ethnic settlement areas of northwest Hunan, with definite therapeutic effects. In order to develop and utilize this plant resource more reasonably, this article conducted a study on its chemical composition. Multiple chromatographic separation methods were comprehensively used to isolate 20 compounds for the first time from the 75% ethanol extract of the aerial part of Platycodon grandiflorus, and their structures were identified. Except for compounds 3 and 4, all other compounds were isolated for the first time from plants of the genus Acacia, further clarifying the material basis of the white haired Acacia. The inhibitory activity of various compounds on the proliferation of RAFLS cells in vitro, as well as their effects on the production of inflammatory factors TNF – α, IL-1 β, and IL-6 in LPS induced RAW264.7 cells, were evaluated. It was found that some compounds have moderate anti-inflammatory activity, which may be related to their inhibition of inflammatory factor production. However, the pharmacological substance basis and mechanism of action of Platycodon grandiflorus against rheumatoid arthritis still need to be further studied through systematic in vitro and in vivo experiments. The research results of this article can provide certain experimental basis for the improvement of quality standards, further development, and clinical application of white haired blackcurrant.
