S\u0131cakl\u0131k, besin, rekabet ve tuzluluk \u00f6zellikleri nedeniyle, karasal mantarlara k\u0131yasla spesifik ikincil metabolik yollar olu\u015ftururlar ve bol miktarda yeni aktif do\u011fal \u00fcr\u00fcn \u00fcretebilirler. G\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde Aspergillus mantarlar\u0131nda alkaloidler, terpenler, lignin, steroidler, poliketonlar, siklik peptitler gibi \u00e7e\u015fitli yap\u0131sal ikincil metabolit t\u00fcrleri ke\u015ffedilmi\u015ftir ve bunlar anti-t\u00fcm\u00f6r, antibakteriyel, anti-enflamatuar, antiviral vb. gibi \u00e7e\u015fitli biyolojik aktivitelere sahiptir. Aspergillus terreus do\u011fada yayg\u0131n olarak bulunur ve genellikle topra\u011f\u0131n rizosferinden, \u00e7\u00fcr\u00fcyen organik maddelerden ve deniz ortamlar\u0131ndan izole edilir. Aspergillus terreus, lipid d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcr\u00fcc\u00fc ila\u00e7 lovastatin ve ara \u00fcr\u00fcnlerini \u00fcretmenin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra, ekonomik a\u00e7\u0131dan \u00f6nemli \u00e7e\u015fitli ikincil metabolitler de \u00fcretebilir.
