Most of the sebacic acid is used to produce dioctyl sebacate (DOZ) plasticizers, and other uses are as raw materials for perfumes, lubricating oils, oils, and polyamide resins. The azelaic acid is dehydrated by ammonia to obtain azelonitrile.
