Jelent\u00e9sek szerint ezek a vegy\u00fcletek sz\u00e1mos biol\u00f3giai aktivit\u00e1ssal rendelkeznek, p\u00e9ld\u00e1ul r\u00e1kellenes, cukorbetegs\u00e9g-ellenes, v\u00edrusellenes, bakt\u00e9riumellenes \u00e9s oxid\u00e1ci\u00f3ellenes hat\u00e1s\u00faak. Az \u00e9szteres\u00edt\u00e9si reakci\u00f3k leggyakrabban a C13 \u00e9s C28 poz\u00edci\u00f3kban fordulnak el\u0151, de a C7 \u00e9s C27 poz\u00edci\u00f3kban is tal\u00e1ltak ilyen reakci\u00f3kat. A dehidrog\u00e9nez\u00e9si reakci\u00f3 leggyakrabban a C11 poz\u00edci\u00f3ban fordul el\u0151, \u00e9s alkalmank\u00e9nt a C4, C5 \u00e9s C23 poz\u00edci\u00f3kban. A karboxil\u00e1ci\u00f3 szint\u00e9n nagyon gyakori a C3, C29 \u00e9s C30 poz\u00edci\u00f3kban. A C3, C28 \u00e9s C30 poz\u00edci\u00f3k a gl\u00fck\u00f3z \u00f6sszekapcsol\u00f3d\u00e1s\u00e1nak gyakori helyei, \u00e9s a hidrol\u00edzisre \u00e9s glikozil\u00e1ci\u00f3s reakci\u00f3kra a leg\u00e9rz\u00e9kenyebbek. A pentaciklusos triterpenoidok bakt\u00e9riumokkal t\u00f6rt\u00e9n\u0151 \u00e1talak\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1r\u00f3l valamivel kevesebb kutat\u00e1si jelent\u00e9s sz\u00fcletett, mint gomb\u00e1kkal. Gomb\u00e1kban azonban ilyen t\u00edpus\u00fa reakci\u00f3kat nem siker\u00fclt megval\u00f3s\u00edtani.
