Elles appartiennent \u00e0 la famille des Ericaceae et au genre Vaccinium. Les myrtilles sauvages sont abondantes dans les for\u00eats des monts Changbai, Daxing'an et Xiaoxing'an, dans le nord-est de la Chine.
