Crece en los bosques h\u00famedos de los valles estacionales tropicales y en las laderas de las riberas de los r\u00edos, a una altitud de 520-800 m. Las investigaciones modernas han demostrado que la planta mel\u00edfera Kashiwagi contiene abundantes componentes qu\u00edmicos como sesquiterpenos, triterpenos, diterpenos y limonoides.
