Schmidt var. mandshuricum (Maxim.) Kitag Se\u00fal Asarum sieboldii Miq Las ra\u00edces y rizomas secos de la var. seoulense Nakai o Asarum sieboldii Miq. se producen en Shandong, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Sichuan y otros lugares. El asarum es de naturaleza c\u00e1lida, sabor acre y puede regular los tres meridianos del coraz\u00f3n, los pulmones y los ri\u00f1ones. Tiene efectos de alivio del calor externo, disipaci\u00f3n del fr\u00edo, disipaci\u00f3n del viento y alivio del dolor. Se utiliza para tratar s\u00edntomas como la flema y la tos, el viento fr\u00edo, el reumatismo y el catarro, y tiene una historia medicinal de m\u00e1s de 2000 a\u00f1os.
