Laut der Flora of China umfasst diese Gattung sechs Arten: C. praecox, C. nitens, C. salic ifolius, C. campanulatus, C. zhejiangensis und C. gramatus. Chen et al. klassifizierten die Tutuo-Wachspflaume als eine Variante der Gattung der Wachspflaumen. Die Wachspflaume hat nicht nur einen hohen Zierwert, sondern auch einen sehr hohen essbaren und medizinischen Wert.
