N\u00e6sten alle planter indeholder rigeligt med mikrobielt materiale, og endofytiske bakterier danner gradvist et symbiotisk forhold til v\u00e6rten gennem langsigtet udvikling uden at for\u00e5rsage \u00e5benlyse eksterne infektionssymptomer p\u00e5 v\u00e6rtsplanten. Optimering af kulturmediets sammens\u00e6tning og fermenteringsbetingelserne kan \u00f8ge udbyttet af antibakterielle stoffer. Liu et al. fermenterede Mohewei J7 med optimeret medium, og udbyttet af antibakterielle stoffer steg med 38,89%. Chen et al. optimerede fermenteringsmediet for Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SC1150-stammen, og diameteren af den antibakterielle zone mod fysiologisk race 4 af bananvisnesyge steg fra 23,31 til 28,33.
