Den bruges som hel urt i medicin og virker varmeafledende og afgiftende, fremmer muskelv\u00e6kst og standser bl\u00f8dninger, opl\u00f8ser blodstase og reducerer h\u00e6velser. Den kan bruges til at behandle skader for\u00e5rsaget af fald, slangebid, blodstase og h\u00e6velser. If\u00f8lge litteraturen er der masser af endofytiske bakterier i r\u00f8dder, st\u00e6ngler og blade af den kinesiske gran, som kan producere strukturelt forskellige metabolitter, n\u00e5r de dyrkes in vitro; nogle endofytiske svampe kan ogs\u00e5 producere huperzin A under in vitro-fermentering og -dyrkning. Forskergruppens indledende forskning viste, at flere endofytiske svampe blev isoleret og identificeret fra Cryptomeria lanceolata. Der blev foretaget yderligere unders\u00f8gelser af deres fermenteringsprodukter, og en r\u00e6kke strukturelt nye terpenoid- og polyketidmetabolitter blev isoleret og identificeret. Tenuissimum MT-35 er en endofytisk svamp, som vores forskningsgruppe har isoleret og oprenset fra Cryptomeria acutissima i den tidlige fase. Gennem isolering og identifikation af mikrobielle metabolitter kombineret med aktivitetsscreening forventes det at opdage aktive molekyler med udviklingspotentiale. C. Tenuissimum er en endofytisk svamp, som vores forskningsgruppe har isoleret fra Cryptomeria lanceolata i et tidligt stadie. Det er blevet rapporteret i litteraturen, at denne svamp ogs\u00e5 er blevet isoleret i planter som Pinus wallichiana og Maytenus hookeri. Naseer, Dai og andre unders\u00f8gte dens metabolitter fermenteret i kartoffelglukoseagar-medium og isolerede flere makrolidpolyketoner, hvoraf nogle har antibakteriel aktivitet. I denne unders\u00f8gelse blev ti metabolitter isoleret og identificeret fra de fermenterede produkter af Tenuissimums brune ris, herunder seks kv\u00e6lstofholdige forbindelser, to steroide forbindelser og to polyketidforbindelser. Nogle af forbindelserne udviste biologiske aktiviteter mod acetylcholinesterase og antiinflammatorisk. Selvom strukturen af forbindelse 1 er blevet rapporteret, er der ingen litteraturreference for dens kernemagnetiske resonansdata. I denne artikel blev todimensionel kernemagnetisk resonans (2DNMR) og andre metoder brugt til n\u00f8jagtigt at tildele dens kulstofbrintdata.
