De har unikke biologiske egenskaber, interagerer og er til gavn for v\u00e6rtsplanterne og producerer forskellige vigtige sekund\u00e6re metabolitter. De kan bruges i medicinalindustrien, landbruget og f\u00f8devareindustrien med en r\u00e6kke biologiske aktiviteter.<br \/>\nFusarium er en type tr\u00e5dformede svampe, der er vidt udbredt i jord og planter. I de senere \u00e5r har mange forskere studeret Fusarium-svampes sekund\u00e6re metabolitter og fundet ud af, at de ikke kun kan producere de tre vigtigste svampetoksiner: fumonis, trichothecener og zearalenoner, men ogs\u00e5 producere terpener, amider, quinoner og polyketoner med betydelige biologiske aktiviteter.
