Unders\u00f8gelsesresultaterne af ekstraktionsmidler (methanol, 80% methanol, 60% methanol) viste, at n\u00e5r methanol blev brugt som ekstraktionsmiddel, havde det opn\u00e5ede pr\u00f8vekromatogram flere kromatografiske toppe, relativt st\u00f8rre topomr\u00e5der og en stabil baseline, som bedre afspejlede den kemiske sammens\u00e6tning af Xihuangcao-l\u00e6gemiddel. Derfor blev methanol valgt som ekstraktionsmiddel til det karakteristiske spektrum af Xihuangcao-medicinsk materiale; Resultaterne af m\u00e5ling af b\u00f8lgel\u00e6ngder (250, 254, 260, 280 nm) viste, at der var mange kromatografiske toppe ved 254 nm, og st\u00f8rrelsen af hver top var ensartet. P\u00e5 grund af det lille antal indsamlede partier af Xianwen Xiangchacai og Longye Xiangchacai blev der for at undg\u00e5 fejl i forskningsprocessen valgt kromatografiske toppe med h\u00f8jere responsv\u00e6rdier, bedre separationsgrad og topform til kalibrering, n\u00e5r man studerede f\u00e6lles toppe.
