American Infectious Diseases Association har identificeret seks typer l\u00e6gemiddelresistente bakterier, herunder Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa og Escherichia coli, som ekstremt skadelige. Der er dog i \u00f8jeblikket kun f\u00e5 litteraturrapporter om forebyggelse og forsinkelse af antibiotikaresistens ved hj\u00e6lp af ECEO.
