Schmidt var. mandshuricum (Maxim.) Kitag Seoul Asarum sieboldii Miq De t\u00f8rrede r\u00f8dder og jordst\u00e6ngler af var. seoulense Nakai eller Asarum sieboldii Miq. produceres i Shandong, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Sichuan og andre steder. Asarum er varm af natur, skarp i smagen og kan regulere de tre meridianer i hjertet, lungerne og nyrerne. Den kan lindre ydre varme, fordrive kulde, fordrive vind og lindre smerter. P\u00e5 nuv\u00e6rende tidspunkt fokuserer forskningen i Asarum b\u00e5de nationalt og internationalt hovedsageligt p\u00e5 dens kemiske sammens\u00e6tning, farmakologiske virkninger og toksiske virkninger, og der er ogs\u00e5 blevet opdaget nye farmakologiske virkninger.
