Popul\u00e6rt sagt bliver resistent stivelse ikke absorberet og nedbrudt enzymatisk i tyndtarmen, men den kan gennemg\u00e5 en g\u00e6ringsreaktion med flygtige fedtsyrer i tyktarmen i den menneskelige mave-tarmkanal.
