Moderne farmakologiske unders\u00f8gelser har vist, at ekstraktet af den endofytiske svamp Septoriella phragmitis fra Huaze-orkideen har aktiviteter som antidepressivt middel, antiinflammatorisk middel, immunregulering og antioxidant. Zhang et al. isolerede 8 endofytiske svampe fra Hua Zelan og udf\u00f8rte in vitro antitumor-eksperimenter p\u00e5 ethylacetatekstraktet af deres fermenteringsbouillon, men manglede forskning i individuelle forbindelser. Derudover blev det for f\u00f8rste gang opdaget, at mikroorganismer kan producere den aktive ingrediens i planten Eupatorium adenophorum - puerarin. De farmakologiske aktivitetstestresultater viste, at forbindelserne 6 og 7 havde god h\u00e6mmende aktivitet mod henholdsvis alfa-glucosidase; Forbindelserne 6, 7 og 9 udviser god PTP1B-h\u00e6mmende aktivitet, og deres aktivitet er bedre end det positive l\u00e6gemiddel natriumorthovanadat; Forbindelserne 5 og 6 udviser en vis h\u00e6mmende aktivitet mod gastrisk kr\u00e6ftcellelinje HGC-27 sammenlignet med andre forbindelser.
