What is Corn Oligopeptide Powder of New Resource Food?
National Announcement
On October 21, 2010, the Ministry of Health (MOH) issued the Announcement on the Approval of 3 Items of Sucrose Polyester, Corn Oligopeptide Powder and Phosphatidylserine as New Resource Foods (MOH Announcement No. 15 of 2010) announcement, which formally approved the Corn Oligopeptide Powder as a New Resource Food, with specific regulations on its sources, process, usage, inappropriate population, quality requirements, labeling, and so on.
Functions of raw materials
A large number of studies have found that corn oligopeptide has antioxidant function, sober function, blood pressure function, anti-tumor function, etc., but at present the deep-level mechanism of its research is not deep enough.
1, protect the liver corn peptide on carbon tetrachloride, thioacetamide, alcohol and other chemical substances caused by liver injury have obvious protective effect. In addition, according to pathological examination, corn peptide can significantly reduce the fatty degeneration of hepatocytes, significantly improve the degree of liver tissue damage.
2. Promote alcohol metabolism corn oligopeptide unique amino acid composition, is conducive to promoting alcohol metabolism. Corn oligopeptide contains a high proportion of alanine and leucine. It can enhance the activity of ethanol dehydrogenase and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase in the liver, increase the ability to break down and metabolize alcohol, and promote the decomposition of alcohol.
3. Antioxidant: The semi-inhibitory concentrations (IC50) of corn oligopeptide on DPPH, hydroxyl radicals and superoxide anion radicals were 1.9, 5.4mg/mL and 14.9mg/mL, respectively. The reducing ability of 5.0mg/mL was comparable to that of 0.02mg/mL ascorbic acid, and the antioxidant ability showed a dose-dependent relationship with its mass concentration.
4.Blood pressure lowering In order to study the blood pressure lowering effect of maize oligopeptide, different doses of maize oligopeptide (0.45, 1.35, 4.05g/kg.bw) were administered by gavage to rats with essential hypertension, while the blank control group was given the corresponding dose of distilled water by gavage. The experimental results showed that the corn oligopeptide has obvious blood pressure-lowering effect, and this result will provide a scientific basis for the further development of blood pressure-lowering drugs and functional foods.
5, enhance immunity and enhance athletic ability of corn peptide amino acid composition of glutamine content is very high, glutamine and tissue growth, repair is closely related to the body’s immunity, to maintain the normal structure and function of the intestinal mucosa, to improve the body’s ability to adapt to external harmful stimuli have an important value.
In addition, because corn peptide is rich in leucine and absorbed very quickly, it can quickly provide energy for the muscles and organs of the human body’s exercise system, so it has the function of enhancing the human body’s athletic ability.
Why it can be dissolved in white wine
Corn protein has a high proportion of alcohol-soluble protein. Corn alcohol soluble protein can be soluble in alcohol, and its special amino acid composition.
Alcohol soluble protein molecules not only contain a large number of hydrophobic amino acids, but also lacks amino acids that can be charged with acidic, basic and polar groups, and also contains a large number of sulfur-containing amino acids. These above factors determine its unique solubility, insoluble in water, soluble in 60%~95% alcohols in aqueous solution.
The corn oligopeptide prepared in this way still retains the amino acid composition of corn alcohol soluble protein, and has a smaller molecular weight, and also has good alcohol solubility. In addition, corn oligopeptide is also soluble in water, so it has very good solubility in white wine.
Application in food
Oligopeptide can be widely used in health food, sports nutrition food, beauty food, special medical use formula food, protein nutrition food. Meanwhile, oligopeptides can be used as an important nitrogen source and functional addition in meal replacement foods and solid beverages due to their properties of solubility, stability and physiological activity.
