After consulting local books, it was found that evening primrose can treat lung related diseases. Oenothera biennis L. is a perennial herbaceous plant in the Onagraceae family, belonging to the Oenothera L. genus. It is called Oenothera L. because it blooms between 7-9 pm in the evening. It is a multifunctional plant that can be used for oil, ornamental, and medicinal purposes. It is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine and can be used as medicine throughout the plant. This plant is mainly distributed in the northeastern and southern parts of China, as well as the eastern mountainous areas. The seed oil of evening primrose is rich in various unsaturated fatty acids such as gamma linolenic acid, which are essential fatty acids for the human body and have strong biological activity. Through literature review, it was found that there are relatively few reports on the chemical composition of evening primrose, and there is a lack of systematic research on the chemical composition of evening primrose. In order to clarify the chemical composition of evening primrose and lay the foundation for its subsequent development and utilization, this study isolated and identified the chemical components of the entire evening primrose plant.
This article uses various chromatographic separation techniques to isolate and purify the chemical components of evening primrose, obtaining 10 compounds (1-10), among which compound 1 is a new compound; The effects of compounds 1-10 on TGF – β 1-induced BEAS-2B cell damage were determined using MTT assay. The results showed that compounds 2 and 3 significantly increased the activity of TGF – β 1-induced BEAS2B cells. This article further enriches the chemical composition of evening primrose. Previous studies have mainly focused on the pharmacological activities of evening primrose oil. The activity test results of this study have also expanded the medicinal value of evening primrose and accumulated basic data for its development and utilization. At the same time, the research group conducted preliminary screening studies on the anti pulmonary fibrosis activity of the total extract of evening primrose. In order to clarify its pharmacological substance basis, this study isolated and purified its chemical components, laying the foundation for its further development and utilization.
