Research on the Chemical Composition of Myraya Paniculata (L.) Jack, also known as Nine Tree Incense, Seven Mile Incense, Ten Thousand Mile Incense, and Mountain Roller Incense, is a plant species in the Rutaceae family. Qianli Xiang is one of the original plants of the traditional Chinese medicine Jiuli Xiang. Its medicinal parts are dry leaves and tender branches with leaves, which have the effects of promoting qi circulation, relieving pain, activating blood circulation, and dispersing blood stasis. Qianli Xiang is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Taiwan and other places in China. Commonly used to treat various diseases, especially inflammatory lesions, rheumatoid arthritis, and stomach pain. Modern pharmacological research has found that it has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti fertility, hypoglycemic, anesthetic, and anti-tumor effects. At present, the reported chemical components of Qianli Xiang mainly include flavonoids, coumarins, alkaloids, and volatile oils. Flavonoids and coumarins are its main components, mainly found in branches and leaves. Multimethoxyflavonoids are one of its characteristics, and alkaloids are mainly found in roots and bark, mostly indole. At present, the current Chinese Pharmacopoeia only includes morphological, physicochemical identification, and moisture testing items, without qualitative and quantitative identification. Currently, the mainstream variety of commercial medicinal materials in the medicinal herb market is Qianli Xiang. In order to carry out subsequent research on its quality standards and pharmacological substance basis, and improve its comprehensive resource utilization efficiency, systematic chemical research has been conducted on Qianli Xiang. The compounds isolated and identified in this study were mainly methoxyflavonoids, which have been reported by previous researchers to have good biological activity. This study not only enriches the information of chemical components in Qianli Xiang, but also provides a material basis for its activity screening, and can provide indicator components for its quality standard research.


Research has shown that the main components of Qianli Xiang are coumarins and flavonoids. Coumarin compounds have good anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities, and are potential effective ingredients for the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Qianli Xiang. In addition, they also have antibacterial and hypoglycemic effects. Polymethoxyflavone is a flavonoid component with high degree of methylation, which is one of the characteristic components of the genus Kyraya. Its biological activity is significant, and it has strong anti proliferation activity against MCF-7 human thymus cancer cells, MDA-MB-468 human breast cancer cells, human gastric cancer AGS cells and other cancer cells. In addition, it also has anti-inflammatory, angiogenesis inhibition and other activities. The research results of this article further indicate that Qianli Xiang is rich in multi methoxy flavonoids, which are also its main active ingredients. For example, the two multi methoxy flavonoids 5, 7, 3 ‘, 4’, 5 ‘- pentamethoxy flavonoids (25) and demethylated tangerine peel extract (26) isolated in this article have significant anti-inflammatory effects on ethanol induced gastric epithelial cell (GES-1) damage.
Two new compounds were isolated in this article, and for the first time, 17 compounds were discovered from the genus Aquilaria. The research results not only enrich the information of chemical components in Qianli Xiang, but also provide a material basis for its activity screening, and can also provide indicator components for its quality standard research.
